Kiwi Rail operates a popular train service - The Northern Explorer - between Auckland and Wellington, connecting Wellington with most major North Island cities.The journey takes around 10 hours and takes you through some of the most stunning parts of the North Island.There are also various bus companies running regular services into and out of Wellington, the main one being InterCity Coachlines.
