Our famous Firecracker Chicken dish has been on our menu for 12 years. A long-standing hit with anyone who likes a challenge, it's our hottest dish and comes with a warning whenever it is ordered. Pieces of crispy chilli crumbed succulent chicken are wok-fried in our secret hot Malay chilli sambal sauce - this dish is equal parts spicy and addictive, and as a result, a decade ago we launched our Firecracker Club. Once a month, we challenge diners to eat as much Firecracker Chicken as they can for a set price. We consistently welcome over 200 willing participants through the doors on those Mondays, with the vast majority coming every month without fail. The current record is 11 portions (approximately 35 pieces) and it was set by a young woman in 2013. It's awesome how often we get requests from around the world from fans of the dish looking for the recipe to get their fix - we've never given it out though - but Mike (the owner), did once vac-pack 5 litres of the sauce and took it with him to London in a refrigerated box to hand-deliver it to a special family who were committed Firecracker regulars of ours until they relocated there.
