For many decades, the current Monsoon Poon premises were home to a very popular market where Wellingtonians could buy the freshest products. The market was then relocated in the late 1980s.
When Shoots Microgreens started their business, they moved in our basement and so the Monsoon Poon team was thrilled to welcome back fresh green produce in the Te Aro area. For years, we've used their products extensively in our cuisine. And in the creation of this dish, when we were looking at adding a burst of herbaceous freshness to balance out the creaminess of the crayfish, our Shoots Microgreens friends offered the perfect solution.
Dish Description: Yellow Brick Road pot-harvested crayfish with dashi-braised Parkvale mushrooms, Shoots NZ coriander, heirloom tomato and lemongrass bisque.
