From Paddock to Wharf

Our inspiration for this dish comes from the history of sea trading on Queens Wharf. The creation of Queen’s Wharf - initially known as Deep Water Wharf - started in 1861. It was the centre of Wellington’s thriving sea trade from the 1880s to the 1930s, exporting meat, cheese, apples and pears, coal, wool, tallow and flax. Lambton Harbour Management began redevelopment of the waterfront in 1989, with the conversion of Shed 3 into Dockside restaurant, one of its first tasks.

Dish Description: Pure South beef fillet and beef cheek with puy lentils, savoy, bacon, smoked eggplant purée, roasted carrot, blackcurrant yoghurt and Shoots NZ micro radishes.
