A Little Bit Country

Beach Babylon is going a little bit country this August. Serving up soulful southern food, with live bluegrass and country music performances on Friday and Saturday nights for the first fortnight. Try something a little different with a Tennessee-inspired menu, such as sweetcorn and pepperdew hush puppies, Nashville hot chicken wings, Whiskey-apple braised pork cheek, Kāpiti gruyere-parmesan mac 'n' cheese, MoonPie fondue, cocktails and good vibes.

What We Need is A Great Big Melting Pot

Travel around the world in one evening and taste the flavours of the four continents, Europe, South America, Asia and the Middle East, in this internationally-inspired fondue event.

Using locally sourced products including Pandoro, Kāpiti Candies, Capital Produce and Island Bay butchery, dishes include both classic and unexpected matches for Kingsmeade Artisan cheese and Wellington Chocolate Factory chocolate fondues.

Each course is matched with a Wellington regional beverage from Matahiwi Estate wines, ParrotDog craft beer or Koakoa cocktails, with non-alcholic options available.

This event is designed as a sharing banquet style event for groups of four or more.

Meat 'n' Three

Inspired by 232 Oriental Parade history, the home of some of Wellington's most iconic restaurants in the 70s and 80s, The Beachcomber and Castaways, and their menus. Our Meat 'n' Three is a retrospective dish, taken into 2021 with a touch of Tennessee. 'Meat and three vege' is going all the way to the American South using quality Wellington produce. Pork cheek is slow-cooked in apples and Tennessee whiskey and served with Kāpiti gruyere mac 'n' cheese and Wellington vegetables. A little bit country, a little look into our past.
