1865

1865 was a seminal year in Wellington's history becoming the capital of New Zealand and opening its port to supply the world. The same year coincided with the end of the American Civil War. A time when families, friends and loved ones joined together to celebrate both here and in America. It was the time when the American apple pie was centre stage in those culinary celebrations. Southern Cross are bringing together a two-course group dining experience to mark the rise of the celebratory dessert - the first course is a shared American feast then followed by their twist on the all American apple pie.
