Wellington Producer Marketplace
A key objective of the Festival is to raise the profile of food & beverage producers, manufacturers and suppliers from the Wellington region.
Our food and beverage sector consistently punches above its weight with businesses winning national awards year after year for innovation and quality.
The greater Wellington region has approximately 230 companies in the business of manufacturing food and beverage products. There's a wide range of products, from staple New Zealand exports such as meat through to further processed, high-end products like fine wines, craft beers, chocolate, confectionery, olive oil, honey, and coffee to name a few.
Wellington Producer Marketplace
We’d like to invite you to showcase your incredible locally grown, made, sourced or produced products at the Wellington Producer Marketplace 2022.
This year we are introducing a new ‘local’ definition for the Wellington Producer Market and Visa Wellington On a Plate. We are looking for products that are grown, made or produced within a 100km radius of Wellington CBD.
Following feedback from the hospitality industry, we are increasing our focus on primary products as well as new products/producers. In 2022 it will be a requirement for all stands to be showcasing a new product, along with any core range you wish to exhibit.
What is it?
Originally created as a kick-off industry event for Visa Wellington On a Plate, the Wellington Producer Marketplace has grown into a trade show style event where producers and suppliers within a 100km radius of Wellington have the chance to network and show their product to the industry professionals who would use or sell them all year round.
Why should I attend?
Whether you’re making just a few bottles of kombucha a week or growing hectares of organic artichokes, this is your opportunity to chat to chefs about how your products can work in their establishments or dishes.
Who will be there?
This is your chance to catch up with the Visa Wellington On a Plate participants. The Festival is not just about the restaurants, it’s also about celebrating the incredible products we have in the wider region. Have an idea for a killer Visa WOAP event? Want to collaborate with a restaurant and want an introduction? Chat to us!
We’ve invited buyers from large and boutique grocery outlets from around the Wellington region and some from across New Zealand, so if your product has shelf potential, it will be in front of the right people.
What kind of products are you after?
We are looking for innovative and new products! Olive oil, microgreens, ice cream, beer, wine, soda, kombucha, fresh produce, meat products, bread, grains - anything food-related! It’s a great place to launch new products and not-your-usual products to catch the eye of chefs and buyers. If you’re not sure if your product is the right fit, get in touch.
